WORLD OF WARCRAFT CLASSIC INCREASES SUBSCRIPTION REVENUE BY 223% IN AUGUST
The launch of World of Warcraft Classic has, without a doubt, sparked the nostalgic flame in many players. If the queues some servers experienced weren't enough of a sign, Superdata reports that the title's launch has led to a 223% subscription revenue increase for the month of August. To get more news about Shadowlands WoW Gold, you can visit lootwowgold news official website.
Despite the 223% subscription revenue increase, World of Warcraft Classic didn't manage to surpass the revenue brought in by the MMORPG's latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, which launched last year. The two versions of World of Warcraft share the same subscription.
In terms of top grossing games on PC in August, World of Warcraft Classic came in third after Dungeon Fighter Online and Riot Games' League of Legends. You can see the entire report over on Superdata's website.
The launch of World of Warcraft Classic was met with lots of player enthusiasm. In its first week, queues of tens of thousands of players were reported, which prompted Blizzard to add new realms and offer free character transfers for overpopulated ones.
This happened even with the concession of having layering (a technology borrowed from the modern version of WoW) in the first months following Classic's release.
